Short profile

Julia Shengqi Zhu is a graduate of Area Studies Asia/Africa at Humboldt University of Berlin. From 2016-2017 she was the German scholarship stipendee of the Heiwa Nakajima Foundation at Tōkai University in Kanagawa. From 2019 onwards, she enrolled in the Master's degree in Modern Japanese Studies at the Heinrich Heine University of Düsseldorf, where she was a project research assistant at Bürgeruniversität from 2021-2022. She joined the institute teaching staff in April 2022 as part of her PhD program.

She has previous experiences as a language teacher for Japanese, German and English.

  • Classical and modern lexical poetology (waka, enka)
