Student Council

As the Modern Japanese Studies Student Council, our work focuses on advising and mediating between students in our department and all other university authorities. We are happy to assist you with any questions you may have about your studies or “surviving” in Düsseldorf. We also provide you with all the information you need about studying and everyday university life via our social media channels and our Discord server.

Beyond our official duties, we organize and take care of regular events such as the monthly get-together, to which all students, teachers, and Japanese people are cordially invited. We also host game nights and party celebrations for various occasions such as Hanami, Halloween, and Christmas.

Every Tuesday at 12:15 p.m. we hold our public student council meeting. You may participate in person in our room or via Discord on the voice channel “Sitzung (öffentlich)”. You can find our office hours on our website and on the notice board in our room 24.21.05.72. Outside of office hours, you can reach us at any time via our channels and make appointments.
